“Junk” to One-of-a-Kind Treasure
One of my favorite “junk collecting tasks” would be scouting of random garage sale signs that I come across, and checking them out “just in case” there is something that I cant leave without! More times than not, I have to come home and switch vehicles from my jeep to a truck so I can haul my load home… so my “garage selling” generally only happens when Craig is away and wont see my loot come through the front door! A lot of the furniture in our home has come about by finding other peoples junk and painting or altering them to make them more “primitive” and suit our home!

My favorite thing to do is take a piece of furniture, strip it down (if its real wood) and re paint it black, navy or burgundy then sand all the edges to make it look worn and primitive! This way I get the look I like and generally it is very cheap because someone else didn’t want it! Most of the pieces in my house now are black and you can see the pictures! Anything from shelves to dressers and even actual antiques like the old office chair! I am very lucky though… even for as much stuff as I bring into our home, Craig doesn’t usually ever say anything even though he claims he notices every change!

I love the corner table, especially with those stars on the top. The old chair is really cool too.

Awesome! Great job on all of those pieces…I too am a huge fan of the smaller corner table. I think I should start doing this!
