Random Acts of Kindness Month
I know that this isn’t directly related to the world of Agriculture…..or then again maybe it is. It seems to me that we are always creating days and events that are pretty much just how “Country Folk” act. We would never think that we had to name a day or a month – Random Acts of Kindness in order to do good things for one another, it’s just our nature.
You can always count on the neighbors to show up with food – really good food, if there has been a tragedy or a reason to celebrate. The days of barn buildings is a great example of neighbors randomly helping one another. I remember one year when I was young, it was just days before Christmas and we finished harvest. Instead of putting the combines away, we just moved up the road to the neighbors in order to help them get done. I know they would have done the same for us.
As a working Mom, I always appreciated the parents that would invite my girls along to a show that we couldn’t attend because of my schedule. Now years later, Rob and I find ourselves offering to take kids to junior shows, just so we have a reason to go. Here is a RAK card I created, print it off and keep it with you.
Maybe by you using it and someone paying it forward, we will all experience a bit more kindness in the weeks ahead.
