I love music and was raised listening to George’s hits. When I lived in Texas and was being Swept off my feet by a Texan, I really fell in love with the King of Country and his music. My husband loves sharing tidbits and facts about the lyrics from his songs.

Music has been a heated debate in our household – as I tap my foot and John sings to songs (Can you relate?) These two characteristics clashed when we attempted to take dance lessons a couple years ago! When a song comes on, I don’t know the words or name of singer – despite that my husband would probably love me more than he already does (hard to believe that!), if I could race him to identifying them. When it comes to George Strait songs though, I always know it’s him and subconsciously start singing along too.

For the past 5 years, I have worked for the Agriculture department of the Calgary Stampede, during the 10 day – Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth – festival. My husband John came to visit me last year during my stint.

I surprised my hubby with George Strait tickets as part of his Star Birthday present, during the Calgary Stampede.

I came across this video last year through George Straits’ Twitter page and thought you might enjoy seeing an awesome, down to earth side of this famous “western inspired” icon.
